Field Days

Each summer the Society organizes visits to places of historic interest throughout Co. Donegal. These Field Days are led by local historians and provide a unique insight into our county's history and folklore. They are very popular events in the annual calendar and attract members and non-members. In 2006 we had over 100 at a Field Day in Ballyshannon, one of the largest attendances ever. They are a great opportunity to acquire knowledge of the locality, thus gaining new friends in doing so.  Such days are free to the members of the general public.

No need to book just come along on the day.

At Wardstown Castle 3rd Sept. 2006. Anthony Begley was guide.

On 6th August we visited Inishowen. Conall Byrne was our guide, seen here talking at Carrickabraghy Castle.

Conall has died since R.I.P.
